_Heroes of Japan exposed to high levels of radiation are much more likely than others to develop leukemia. Please consider to register with Asian American Donor Program, so in case anyone touched by the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami might need a matching donor later you can give back and might be the one to save a life!

Thanks to intensive research leukemia patients and patients of other blood diseases have a chance to be healed. Often a bone marrow transplantation is needed.

Due to the lack of Asians and part Asians in bone marrow donor registries most of the time a matching donor can‘t be found. Together we can change this!

For bone marrow transplantation racial and ethnic heritage are very important factors. Because tissue types are inherited, patients are most likely to match someone of their own race or ethnicity.
